Olympus PEN E-PL10
In addition to the OM-D E-M5 Mark III, Olympus are also rumored to be launched a follow-up to the PEN E-PL9 camera, rather unsurprisingly called the Olympus PEN E-PL10.
An extensive gallery of official looking product shots of this Micro Four Thirds mirrorless camera have already appeared on Photo Rumors.
With the E-M5 III due to be launched as soon as this week, we could also see the debut of the E-PL10 alongside its more expensive and more capable sibling.
Specifications are rather thin on the ground at this point, other than the three colourways shown in the gallery of product shots – black, white and tan.
At first glance, the exterior of the E-PL10 looks nigh on identical to the E-PL9, so it seems that any upgrades will be internal.
We’d expect Olympus to play it safe and stick with the 16 megapixel sensor that’s seemingly been used by the last 9 E-PL cameras, rather than upgrading to the latest and greatest 20 megapixel sensor.
Could the E-PL9’s 3-axis image stabilisation system be upgraded to the more capable 5-axis system that the E-M5 II featured? Will the auto-focus system also get an upgrade? We’ll just have to wait and see…
