Huawei’s got a big event planned for 19 September, but has had its entire presentation leaked ahead of time.
Essential reading: Our Huawei Band 3 Pro review
There aren’t that many actual details surrounding the Band 4 in the leak, so there will still be some good information to come from Huawei itself at the presentation, but we do have images to confirms its new design.
These show that it will charge by USB, unlike its predecessor, the Band 3 Pro. The rear of the unit also packs in a SpO2 sensor and heart rate monitor – something that we hope is an improvement on the Band 3’s version, which had pretty spotty accuracy.
The design of tracker has changed a bit, and from these renders it looks a little more attractive – quite a lot like the Samsung Galaxy Fit and Xiaomi Mi Band 4, in fact. The images are of a peach-ish colored silicon band, but we’d think it’s a safe bet more colors will emerge.
Meanwhile, the leak also confirms again what we already knew from Huawei’s own official channels – that the Huawei Watch GT 2 is on its way, too.
We’ve seen a lot of this watch in leaks over the last couple of weeks, and its specs are looking pretty concrete, now. It will have an AMOLED display and be waterproofed up to 50 meters with a heart rate monitor, GPS tracking and the addition of a microphone and speaker, to let the watch the ability to make and receive calls.
It’s looking like the smaller size of the planned 46mm and 42mm options for the watch won’t include that microphone combo, though. In line with the original, the new GT 2 will also pack a big battery – 450mAh, up from the 420mAh version included in the Watch GT.
There’s always more to learn about new devices from official sources, though, so we’ll be at Huawei’s event tomorrow to find out more about the Band 4 and Watch GT 2, and will bring you all the updates as we hear more.
