Apple has rolled out the latest software update for the Apple Watch and among the usual performance improvements and tweaks it’s bringing new Pride-themed watch faces.
Apple’s first Pride watch face landed last year via its watchOS 4.3.1 update. In watchOS 5.2.1, you’re now getting an additional digital option and an analog face that also support some Apple Watch complications.
The new digital watch face now spreads the iconic rainbow colours across the entire screen, while the analog face comes in full screen or circular form and will change colors each time you raise your wrist to check in on the time.
The other big news is that Apple has now activated its ECG app and irregular heart rate rhythm notification, which is now available in Croatia, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Poland and Iceland. The serious health monitoring features first rolled out to Apple Watches in the US in 2018 before it was made more widely available in 19 more countries including the UK, France, Germany and Hong Kong earlier this year.

The latest watchOS update comes less than a month away from WWDC, Apple’s big developer conference where we are expecting to learn about what else is in store for current Apple Watch models and potentially the Apple Watch Series 5.
The most recent speculation suggests watchOS 6 will bring major upgrades to the Watch including an on-device App Store and new watch faces and complications. It seems we can also expect apps that already appear on the iPad and the iPhone to make the move to the Apple Watch with Voice Memos, Apple Books (so you can listen to audiobooks on the go) and Calculator set to be top of the list.
Apple does have a habit to announce new Apple Watch bands at WWDC too, so there’s a chance we could see some new accessories as well alongside the software features that will likely roll out to compatible Watches (and new ones) later this year.
